Discussion at CMU – SME 5.0 Perspectives

During the secondment visit to the Faculty of Engineering at CMU, presentations of the FMT TUKE research areas was delivered to the faculty management - the Dean, Vice-Dean and and Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering. The presentations focused on identifying potential synergies and cooperation opportunities within the framework of the SME 5.0 project, which promotes human-centric and sustainable innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises.
The visit included constructive discussions on the possibilities of future cooperation, particularly in the fields of research mobilities, international project participation, and joint scientific publications. Both institutions expressed a shared interest in fostering stronger collaboration to support the digital and sustainable transformation of SMEs. A key topic of the visit was the analysis of current technological requirements and future expectations related to systems that empower workers and enhance the attractiveness of jobs in SMEs.
Discussions highlighted the need for inclusive design, intelligent assistance systems, and adaptable technologies that support diverse worker capabilities in alignment with the Industry/SME 5.0 paradigm.
