Factory visit (Balto s.a)

Balto s.a is located in the second largest industrial park in Latin America having around 250 industrial companies there. They work in the textile industry, mainly coloring the fabrics.

We had great opportunity to visit the shop floor and the warehouse and see the manufacturing processes. Starting with coloring, which was made like in enormous washing machines. Following of extra processes such as edge cutting and finalizing with machined ironing and packaging. Although it is not common to use ERP software in Argentina, the production was integrated into custom-made production management Visual Basic software.

The visit was together with Prof. Sergio Salimbeni and Leila Zare.
